SRF Red Velvet's name is appropriate considering she is a beautiful true maroon. She has bloodlines running back to Accoyo Victor's Mr. Gold, Accoyo PPeruvian Victor and PPeruvian Pluro and Acero Marka's Mr. Know It All. Her sire is King Crimson, a full Peruvian son of Camelot. His fleece is good enough to have won several special awards (best handle, best luster..) over all fleece colors.
Red Velvet has a nice soft handled fleece; good fineness and density. She is bred to Fandango's Masterpiece Vermeer for a crie due in October 2010.
Vermeer is out of Fandango, who is considered to be the best Bueno son in existence. His dam is out of Presidio who is one of the top producing Caligula sons in the USA. Vermeer is a great Accoyo/Allianza cross sporting a micron of 18.8/3.9/20.7/2.7. Combine this with his skin biopsy of 83 follicles SQ MM and an S&P ratio of 12:1 and you have the best of both worlds!
